INTO Giving is supporting child refugees – children who have fled war in Syria and poverty in Afghanistan and Pakistan – and their families with donations of £15,000 (US $19,300) raised by INTO faculty, staff, students, INTO university partners and friends over 2017-2019.
Project Hope 4 Kids works inside and out of the Filippiada Refugee Camp in northern Greece, running an educational program for 100 children. At Hope 4 Kids, children learn English, Greek, maths, sport and arts from volunteer teachers. The youngest children receive day care.
All of the children are three-18-years-old, and are either Syrian, Afghani, Pakistani or Kurdish. These children will have lost everything – homes, family members (sometimes entire families), pets, their toys and their friends.
These are ordinary children. Children who liked cartoons, who liked climbing trees and games of hide and seek. Children like you know now, and children like you once were.
THE GOOD NEWS
INTO Giving’s support – the funds you help raise, the funds you donate – support six volunteer teachers, who work at the camp for 3-6 months and who deliver a combined 76 teaching and day care hours a week across four sites, and classroom supplies.
