Girls Education International
Supporting educational opportunities for vulnerable girls and women in rural Tanzania
How can you help?INTO Giving is supporting Girls' Education International (GEI) with £6,000 ($7,400). This will help them enable young women in their pursuit of education by covering the fees associated with their high school education and providing scholarships to those seeking university and vocational training.
GEI envisions a world where educational opportunities for women and girls are equal to those typically afforded boys and men, and thus provide the foundation for healthier and prosperous societies that reflect their unique cultural differences
The region GEI serves encompasses thousands of individuals living close to Kigoma, in Tanzania.
"Girls' Education International believes that honouring local knowledge and leadership in the community development process is critical to fostering sustainable outcomes and cultivating ownership. We seek to preserve existing local systems so that positive change can be enjoyed for years to come. We desire to invigorate communities to realize their own aspirations, identify their challenges, and imagine their own solutions. Girls' Education International is committed to strengthening local institutions and communities for the long-term by building together on strengths rather than identifying deficits."
£4 or $4 once a month can help provide a scholarship for a young girl going to university.
