Standing up for civil rights

Over 2020-21, INTO Giving donated $52,000 (£40,000 UK) to US and UK civil rights and anti-hate groups. We believe people should feel safe, free of discrimination and violence whatever our ethnicity or origins.

 In 2020, we donated £20,000 ($25,000 USD). These grants were split evenly across Stop Hate UK and, in the US, to the NAACP and Color of Change.

 In 2021, we donated a further £20,000 ($27,000 USD), split evenly between:

 Stop AAPI Hate – a US-wide organization founded in response to the rising incidents of discrimination, violence and hate toward Asian and Pacific Islanders in COVID-19, Stop AAPI Hate offers multilingual resources to community groups, serves as the leading aggregator of AAPI hate incidents, and advocates for local, state and national policies reinforcing human rights and civil rights protections.

 Color of Change – a US-wide digital racial justice organization whose work focuses on economic justice, criminal justice, media justice and voting freedom through working with its more than 7 million members, companies and government to create a less hostile world. In 2021, Color of Change is also promoting the Black Patients’ Guide to COVID-19 Vaccinations.

 Runnymede Trust – a leading UK equality and civil rights non-profit organisation, providing research into and resources on multi-ethnic Britain. Runnymede works in close association with the University of Manchester’s Centre on the Dynamics of Ethnicity and numerous secondary schools, universities, community centres and museums throughout the UK. Nationally (and freely) available in-class teaching materials, include: History Lessons Teaching Diversity In and Through the History National Curriculum.
