Get away from your desk and volunteer!

INTO University Partnerships now offers two volunteer days a year to all of their employees - Nada Alassaf was one of the first employees to take the opportunity!

Get away from your desk and volunteer

Nada Alassaf, Admissions Manager at INTO University Partnerships, volunteered for INTO Giving using one of her volunteer days offered to her by the company. Here she tells us how she got one, and why she is looking forward to taking time out of the office to volunteer again.

'I have always supported INTO giving in many ways, but this time it had its own taste.

I have used one of my allowed voluntary days, a scheme introduced by INTO giving along with the iGive campaign and I used it to fundraise for INTO Giving at Deepdeen School.

Abraham, my son is the charity ambassador of his school and during the summer holidays he had two days work experience with INTO Giving (thanks to Naomi and Chris for the support).

With Abraham's enthusiasm and the help and advice we got from the INTO Giving team, the approval and remarkable support of Deepdeen School, their Headteacher, staff, pupils and parents we had an amazing Halloween bake sale event raising over £170!

These funds will be used to support INTO Giving projects across the world.

Doing this volunteer day made me feel a mixture of pride, happiness and a motivation to help further. It was something special and I am incredibly grateful to have had this opportunity.

I look forward to hearing about what others do with their volunteer days and to using my second one!'
